When and how will violators of the language law be fined?

Penalties for refusing to communicate with customers in Ukrainian will be from July 16, 2022. Violation of the law in the field of service is subject to a fine of UAH 5,100 to UAH 6,800. The Ukrainian Language Ombudsman Taras Kremin spoke about it.

"But this is for malicious violators, who in principle violate the rights of citizens, against whom we constantly receive complaints, and two such complaints are enough for us to start proceedings, to prepare a protocol and impose a fine," said Kremin. He added that fines can be challenged in court, and in any case, the evidence must be provided for such claims.
